Pastor James Marshall
Bishop James Marshall was born in 1951 to his parents Arie Marshall and Coolidge Hickman in Winston Salem, NC. He attended public schools in North Carolina and went on to attend Forsyth Technical Institute. He later joined the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War.
Upon returning home from Vietnam, Bishop Marshall was stationed in Marquette, MI. While there, he was invited to a Pentecostal church by a friend. It was at this church that he received the gift of the Holy Ghost. He also met his wife while stationed in Marquette and went on to start a family. The couple had three children, Jacob, Benjamin and Arie.
Years later, Bishop Marshall felt a calling by God to move to a small town called Selma, AL. He took his family to Alabama and started Christian Grace Apostolic Church; a solid church with a strong foundation. Three years later, the Marshall's were blessed with their youngest daughter, Timbrala, giving them a total of four children.
Bishop James Marshall's purpose in life has always been to see souls saved and to help those that are hurting from the trials of life to find peace of mind. Eight churches have developed under his ministry and countless souls have been saved. He continues to minister in Selma, AL, and also serves in numerous positions as a leader in the community. His mission statement is one of hope, faith, encouragement and continued praise to God. He welcomes all to join him at Christian Grace, where the Grace of God abides.
